The Infinite Replacement game
Note
This game is unfinished! I made it for Brackeys 2026.2 "Trust no one"! Unforch I have a lot of irl stuff goin on so I popped out this demo ASAP. If I have time I'm gonna try and add more QoL and content stuff before the deadline!!
How to play
In this game, you and your friends have performed a ritual, and a "replacement" has infiltrated your group. Its your job as the group leader, to figure out who's lying.
The game consists of "rounds" where everyone will claim where they were during the ritual stage. One person will be lying, and will have actually been in the same room as the victim.
Use the characters special traits to discern where people were- And use process of elimination to see who's lying and who's telling the truth. If someone's alibi doesnt match up, banish them!
The game will continue until you banish the replacement, or if there are few enough people that the replacement can replace you.
Order matters
The replacement will lie based on what they know. They will read everyone else's statements and make a estimated guess on where they can safely lie about being.
They only know what has been said- AND who was in the rooms parallel to the victim. So if you suspect someone, try to force them to lie by asking for their alibi first...
Repetition
This game is randomly generated, the replacement will be different each time. There are currently 2 floor layouts and 7 roles! I do plan to add more and switch up how the lies are generated. But you can get a good few 5 minute games in before it gets too stale!
Roles
- The Leader, (you) Votes people out.
- The unfortunate, always dies first
- The gossip, Gives 3 people and a room. One of those 3 people are in that room
- The occultist, Lists the person with the least amount of neighbors
- The evesdropper, states how many people were in parallel rooms.
- The Stalker, Picks someone and follows them. Cant be seen by the target
- The daydreamer, Doesnt notice when people are with them
- The charmer, Announces one person who is 100% not the killer.
